CallRoot is a call tracking software for marketing teams and agencies. Track & record incoming phone calls, dynamically insert phone numbers & map referrer source with every incoming call. This wordpress plugin automatically inserts the javascript code for swapping phone numbers in your wordpress website. Installation

  1. Install the CallRoot plugin from the Add Plugin section in your WordPress Admin. Alternatively, you can also download CallRoot plugin from WordPress plugins directory and then upload CallRoot folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
  3. After activation, you will be redirected to a Settings page within WordPress(you can also access this later under Settings menu in admin panel in wordpress), where you will be asked a CallRoot API Key. You will get this API key from the Integrations page on CallRoot.com.
  4. After saving the API Key, we will automatically send this key to our servers to check if the API Key is correct.
  5. If API key is corect, the connected campaign’s name will be displayed. And now, the plugin will automatically swap your numbers (dynamic number insertion), without you having to manually insert the javascript code on every page.

How to get the API key?

To get your API key, login to your CallRoot account and head over to the integrations page. Click on “Connect” button under WordPress. Now choose the campaign you want to connect and API key will be displayed simultaneously.

How does CallRoot uses Dynamic Number Insertion?

CallRoot dynamically swaps phone numbers for each source via Dynamic Number Insertion. When visitors come to your site, the source of that traffic is noted, and a different phone number (appears in the masthead of the page) for each entry channel you are tracking.Thus, making it ideal to gauge the number of inbound phone calls generated from your online marketing campaigns. The website leads phone numbers are then fed into analytics for further review and tracking purpose. So, with this, you can easily attribute value to phone calls you receive and obviously measure your advertisement’s performance.
